The 2013 Audi A6 is all-new and serves as the seventh generation of the brand’s midsize sedan. While certainly not Audi’s top-seller, each generation of the A6 has proven to be a more worthy.

The biggest news for the 2013 A6 is that Audi has managed to make it lighter than the outgoing model. Despite added airbags, safety electronics, and dimensions, the new A6 weighs 4166 pounds, more than 80 pounds less than the outgoing model. Audi engineers achieved this by generous use of aluminum and lightweight alloy throughout the body.

While the sheetmetal and interior have been revised, the powertrains carry over. That means the 2.0-liter 211-hp turbocharged four-cylinder will serve as the base engine, The 2.0-liter is mated to a continuously variable transmission that sends power to the front-wheels.
